To begin with, oil pulling can be used as a natural solution to the whitening of teeth, which is a traditionally recognized method of bettering the oral health and removing toxins in India, whereby you have to swish oil in your mouth to wash out the bacteria such as streptococcus that lead to discoloring, where any plant oil would work, but the most common for this case is the coconut oil, which has additional health benefits and has a pleasant taste and is also said to be highly effective in reducing inflammations and killing bacteria, after you add and pull 1 tablespoon of it every day for about 15 minutes, and is highly advantageous because it will not erode the enamel.
The second home solution of teeth whitening is the use of hydrogen peroxide which is an effective natural bleaching agent and deadly to bacteria, making it an effective solution seeing that it is also available in other bleaching agents but at a higher concentration, and also in toothpaste, at a lower concentration, and for this home application, a concentration of 1.5 to 3% is recommended to prevent experiencing any side effects, and should be brushed before brushing the teeth for 6 weeks continuously, after which you should be able to notice a whitening rate of up to 62%, and can also be used together with baking soda in a ratio of 2:1 respectively, and one should be careful so as to avoid the eroding of the teeth enamel.
The last, the most natural and the less effective solution is the consumption of more fruits and vegetables which are also beneficial to the general body health and are more effective when eaten raw, with strawberries and pineapples seeing more beneficial in teeth whitening whereby pineapples give the enzyme bromelain which assists in teeth whitening while on the other hand, strawberries contain malic acid which is effective in removing stains on teeth but need to be used alongside other agents such as baking soda because they are not effective when used alone because the acid will not be able to penetrate through the stain.
